Xero C2 emulator · test tool

Turn an M5Stack into a test Xero C2.

This flashes an M5Stack Core2 so it pretends to be a Garmin Xero C2 chronograph over Bluetooth. Use it to try and demo TRT's live shot capture without a real Xero — press a button, a shot appears in the app. It sends made-up velocities; it is a testing tool, not a measurement device.

Before you start

Note: flashing works in Chrome or Edge on a computer, not in Safari or on iPhone/iPad. You only need the computer for this one-time flash — after that the emulator talks to the app over Bluetooth like a real Xero.

Install the Xero C2 emulator firmware

Plug the M5Stack Core2 into your computer, then click:

Your browser can't flash over USB. Please open this page in Chrome or Edge on a computer. USB access was blocked. Reload the page and allow the connection when asked.

Latest firmware: — check the version shown on your device's screen and reflash if it's older.

When the port list appears, choose the entry for your M5Stack (often shown as CH9102, CP210x or USB Serial), then follow the on-screen prompts. Takes about a minute.

Use it with the app

Button A — fire a shot
Button B — base velocity +10 m/s
Button C — auto-fire on/off
Trouble connecting?
  1. Use a data USB-C cable, not a charge-only one, and a direct port (avoid cheap hubs).
  2. Close other programs that may hold the serial port (Arduino IDE, serial monitors, M5Burner).
  3. On some computers you may need a one-time USB-serial driver (CH9102 or CP210x) — install it, replug, and reload this page.
  4. If the app can’t see it, make sure the Core2 screen says “advertising”, and that no other device is already connected to it.
  5. Still stuck? Email [email protected].
